3.4 Using the display tabsThe users can open several pages under each main menu, these are displayed as tabs on the “PVSR tabs” area. The user can use besides the left mouse also the right and middle (wheel) mouse buttons and the Ctrl + left mouse button combination on the UI everywhere where a link indicates a change in the displayed hierarchy and/or menu: · Submenus · Sub-submenus (Settings menu) · Hierarchy links on Alarms, Measurements and Reports pages · Object names and icons on Alarms and Measurement pages · Links on the Search submenu pages · Links on the “Show history” pages · Entries in the quick-search result list, although the right mouse click is not supported here Right mouse click displays a selection tooltip to open the element in any or a new PVSR tab or in a new browser tab. The middle (wheel) button and the Ctrl + left mouse button automatically opens the element in a new PVSR tab The right bottom-middle part of the screen is used to display the current page or pages. The user can work with several open pages at the same time. The opened pages can be navigated with the tabs on the top of the pages. The tabs can also be scrolled horizontally. Figure 4. Two tabs The background of the active tab is blue while the other tabs have a grey background. By clicking on the plus icon next to the last tab’s name the users can add new empty tabs as well, while clicking on the x icon next to the tab’s name that tab can be deleted. On the right side of the area a maximize icon is displayed, clicking on which the only the main area is displayed. The tabs are initially named with the name of the menu item. If the menu is below the Measurements or the Alarms menu then the name of the tab automatically changes as the user navigates in the object hierarchy. Several pages and menus can display so called subtabs, dividing the displayed information into multiple groups, for example Properties, Measurements and Thresholds subtabs in case of an equiment’s configuration page. Similarly to tabs the background of the active subtab is always blue. However these subtabs cannot be closed and no new subtab can be added. Figure 5. Subtabs |
