5.7 Load late arrived results

When PVSR looses the communication with a data collector then the data collector keeps on collecting the data and producing files with measurement results. After some time, which can be specified for each collector separately PVSR will not wait for the connection to re-establish and will move on. After the connection is re-established PVSR will get these files as well but it won’t load them into the database. These files remain indefinitely in the directory called tmp/skipped under the PVSR home directory. There is also another directory called tmp/imperror: the system places files here if during the loading into the database it encountered some Oracle errors (but the load might have been successful nevertheless!). The users can use the Settings => Servers => Load late arrived results menu to either load these files into the database or delete them.

First the collector servers have to be selected. PVSR displays for each collector server the number of files and also the first and the last file times. After this the user can select and de-select files one-by-one with the help of the checkbox in the first column of each file row. The user can also filter the table and select or de-select multiple rows in one step by using the checkbox in the first row (it will only affect the currently displayed rows).

There are two operations which can be selected by clicking on the appropriate button:

·       Load: load the files into the database. It is important to note that when such a file is loaded into the database the already calculated report and alarm values will not change, so for example if we load data for the whole yesterday and PVSR already calculated reports for the current day then the reports for yesterday will still be empty. However the on-demand reports are an exception since their data is always re-calculated when the user views the reports. Once a file is loaded by PVSR it will be automatically deleted

·       Delete: the system deletes the selected files without loading them into the database
