7.3 Business hours

Business hours allows the user to

·       Configure the time windows when a threshold should not be violated

·       Configure the time windows when a report variable should not be calculated

·       Use the definition as a value for Business hours parameters

A feasible example would be setting up a threshold that is valid only during week days from 8 a.m. till 4 p.m., or making a report that contains the availability of a piece of equipment only during working hours.

An administrator can modify every business hours, however a restricted administrator cannot edit a window if it is used by a threshold template or by a threshold for which the user doesn’t have right or by a report variable.

Every business hours can contain 0 or more concrete time intervals. These time intervals describe when no violation is generated for the thresholds possessing the business hours and when no summary is made for the report variable in case of sites and equipment. These concrete time intervals have four types:

·       Daily: Every day between the specified dates

·       Weekly: Every week on a specific day – for example on Monday – from the specified time until another specified time on another day of the same week

·       Monthly: Every month on a particular day from the specified time until another specified time on another day of the same month

·       Yearly: Every year on a particular day of a month from the specified time until another specified time on another day of another month

The types above can be varied within a business hours arbitrarily.

The table of business hours consists of these columns:

·       First column: Business hours can be configured with the help of the following links:

o   [add_new]: Creation of a new business hours

o   [edit]: Modification of the name of the business hours in the selected row

o   [del]: Deletion of the business hours in the selected row

o   [add_elem]: Addition of a new time interval element to the business hours in the selected row

·       ID: The ID of the business hours. It is shown here because its value can be used in an equipment template

·       Name: Name of the business hours. This name is displayed for the thresholds

·       Threshold template / threshold / report variable: How many elements are using the given business hours. The values can be clicked upon and PVSR shows the actual elements.

·       Periods: The concrete time periods belonging to the business hours. In this column, a business hours can include even more than one line. In every line, there are [edit] and [del] links as well, with the help of which the specific time period can be modified or deleted.

When creating business hours, along with specifying the name, an existing business hours can be given as well. In this case the new business hours is created with the particular time periods that the given business hours consisted of. It is important to have unique names both when creating and modifying business hours.

When deleting a business hours, those threshold and report variables that used the business hours, will henceforth comprise of the default time period – from 0 a.m. until 12 p.m. every day.

When creating time periods, the period type can be decided. However, when modifying one, only the time interval can be changed. The format of the fields must be the following:

·       Hours: HH:MM:SS, for example 01:12:00

·       Day: DD, for example 01 or 30

·       Month: MM, for example 01 or 12

When installing the system, two predefined business hours are created: “Between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays” and “Every day between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.”
