6.2.4 Virtual equipment

When creating a virtual equipment, at least four parameters can be specified:

·       Name of the equipment

·       Optional description

·       Icon

·       Should the sytem automatically delete the equipment after a while, and if yes, when should it delete it

Similar to the equipments PVSR can also store any number of additional parameters (user defined attributes) for the virtual equipments. If such attributes are defined then they appear alongside with the normal attributes.

After the creation, the virtual equipment can be modified in two separate ways.

Basic parameters: the parameters mentioned above and the parent virtual sites can be modified. After the creation, the virtual equipment has a single parent object (with the current site), but later it can be placed under other sites as well. Accordingly, the parent site is a pull down menu suitable for choosing more elements, where the order in which the elements are displayed depends primarily on whether they have been selected to the equipment before, and only secondarily on their names.

Assigned elements: these elements can be found in a table on the page showing the virtual equipment configuration. Assigning new and deleting existing elements as well as modifying them are possible with the help of the links in the first column of the table. The link to be used depends on whether we want to add a new measurement / chart or a separator text. In the former case a search page is shown similar to the Search menu, where we can look for the desired objects and then use the checkboxes to select them. In the secondcase only the text to be shown can be specified.

The assigned elements can be modified in two ways: by clicking on the arrows the user can change the order of the elements. The user can also change the order by clicking on the [edit] link, however in this case he can specify the new order sequence directly instead of changing it ony-by-one. For the separator texts the user also can change the text to be displayed.
