6.6.2 Event configurationPVSR automatically creates the event instances based on the definitions above. Because of this the event instance configuration means one of the following two operations: event instance deletion or managed status modification. When the instance is first created, it is set to the managed status, meaning that PVSR will display it as an alarm on the UI. However if the status is set to unmanaged then PVSR won't display an alarm if it receives a message for that instance. For example: consider a link up/down event. It is usually not a good thing to display every link down message in the system as an alarm, since there are interfaces which aren't used all the time. So if someone uses such an interface for his own computer only for a short time then the PVSR would show an alarm every time it is detached from the network. The event configuration can be accessed from two menu items: either Settings => Thresholds => Event configuration, or from the configuration page of an equipment on the "Site and equipment configuration" page. This later case is only accessable if the equipment has at least one event instance. If it has then a new entry called "Event configuration" will be displayed among the Operations entries. The event instances can be filtered by the definition name, its own name, the name of the equipment (if using the Settings => Thresholds => Event configuration menu) and the name of the measurement. To apply the changes made on the current page, the OK button has to be clicked (the list can be separated into several pages based on the number of instances). |
