6.8.2 Report activation

The application contains several built-in reports: these only need to be activated in order to use them. During the activation PVSR checks for report variables with the exact name as it is present in the built-in report and if a variable do not exists then it automatically creates them. In this case the user only needs to specify the interval for the report variable. One report variable is able to evaluate several measurements with different measurement intervals. In order to perform this, an interval must be given for the report variables as well; this will be the basis to which the application converts all measurement results during the evaluation. This conversation also means that if for example measurements below an equipment have a collection cycle of one minute and the interval here is five minutes then the maximum value shown in the reports for the equipment will be the maximum of the five minute averages, rather than the maximum of the one minute values. It is important to note that the interval cannot be modified later.

First the collector type has to be selected and after that the reports. In one step only reports belonging to the same collector type can be activated. If the name of the report is shown in a lighter blue color then it means that the report already exists in the system. In this case selecting the report will result in its re-creation with the original parameters. The “Show in the menu” governs whether the report will be available under the Reports menu or not. By default the “Processing mode“ is set to “Validate only” meaning that PVSR will not activate the report, instead it will only show what it would do in case of a report activation (for example creating new report variables). If the report is activated using the “Full process” mode then after a couple of hours PVSR will start to aggregate measurement values. It may also take a couple of hours until the report appears in the Reports or in the Measurement menus.
