6.9.2 Creating external links

The PVSR allows the creation of links under the Measurements, Alarms, Reports, and Settings=>Site and Equipment configuration menu items in the pull down menu on the top of the page. These links set by the administrators can be seen by a selected user group, and when they are used, the PVSR displays them at the requested place, and optionally passes information about the place (e.g., the site or equipment) they were opened from. For external links the following parameters need to be specified:

·       Name: the name of the link that will appear in the pull down menu

·       Order: the order in which the links appear on the UI. The order can be set directly on the entry’s configuration page, but it can be changed also by clicking on the up and down arrows in the external links table

·       URL: Four URL parameters can be given for the different object types (site, virtual site, equipment and virtual equipment) separately. This implies that a link appears for an object only if the URL is set for the specific type. In the URL the following string of characters can be used. Before opening, the PVSR replaces them with the parameter of the object from where it was opened.

o   <id>: object id in the PVSR

o   <name>: name of the object

o   <address>: in case of an equipment, the address of the equipment, if it has such parameter

·       Name filter: The filter option can be given optionally. In this case the link appears only if the condition is true. For the condition the _ and  % symbols can be used.

·       Menu: Under which menu item the link should appear

·       User type: For which users it should appear

·       Opening: How should the URL be opened:

o   In a new window

o   In a new popup window: in this case the menu of the Browser is hidden

o   In the PVSR
