6.12 Windows AD synchronization

PVSR can be configured to synchronize one or more Windows AD groups with its configuration. It can create two types of equipments using templates: SNMP equipments and WS-Management equipments. Each configuration has three types of parameters:

·       LDAP parameters

o   URL: this is where PVSR will connect to

o   User name and password: if specified then PVSR will use these instead of anonymous connection (recommended)

o   Group DN: the DN identifier of the group to synchronize

·       Synchronization parameters

o   Site name: the site where PVSR will create the equipments

o   What should happen if there isn’t any entry in the AD anymore for an equipment under this site: PVSR can just disable the data collection or move it to another site as well

o   Should PVSR synch the equipment description for already existing equipments

o   Cycle of the synchronization

·       Equipment parameters

o   Template

o   Community, authentication, …

o   Others

Once the synchronization is configured we can see the elements under the specified Windows AD group, so we can immediately check the configuration done.
