12.2 Table and TopN reports

The appearances of Table and TopN reports are almost identical, the only difference being that upward navigation is not allowed in the case of TopN reports. These reports contain one or more tables depending on the report and the type of objects (site, equipment, interface and other measurement) on the current level of the hierarchy. The tables display the properties of the objects and the values of variables that were configured by the administrators.

Report pages consist of four different types of interface regions:

  • Upward and sideways navigation, the later of which allows the user to choose the range of records that can be displayed on a single page. The meanings of the icons in the top-left corner are: go the first, previous, next and last page, respectively. The user can jump directly to the required page by entering its number in the text field between the icons and pressing the enter key. The number after this text field shows the total number of pages. Every table has this interface region.
  • Export to XLS: For each table there are two links on the bottom of the page: the first of which exports the currently displayed entries, the other all results to an XLS file.
  • For certain reports the entries can be filtered by the object properties occurring in the table with the Filter button in the top right corner. The default filtering can be specified for a report view. If a filtering is in effect then the background of the button is orange
  • The fourth interface region is the table itself. For each column of the table other than those displaying date variables, the table header contains up and down arrows that allow the ordering of all results on the given level. The current ordering is indicated by a blue rectangle around the given arrow. The first property value – matching the current level if possible – also serves as a link:
    • In case of sites and equipment one can go one level down in the hierarchy with it. If the link points to an equipment report and no such exists in the system, then the page of archived measurements of the given equipment is displayed instead with the properly selected date and time interval.
    • In case of measurements always the page of archived measurements containing the given measurement is displayed with the properly selected date and time interval

The optional links in the header and fields of the measurement results column all lead to different reports, where the object on the given page or row is selected. For example, if a TopN report gets linked to some place for which “Equipments” is specified as the starting hierarchy level, then that TopN report can not only viewed for that site but also for any other sites, if the user first navigates there using the current report.
