6.8.6 Scheduled reportsWith the help of this menu all users except limited ones and the ones without the “Data export functionality” can set up scheduled reports and the administrator users can edit everyone’s scheduled report settings. During the configuration process there are some variables that must be provided independently of the type and format of the report. The parameters are the following: · Name: The name of the scheduled report. This does not have to be unique. This name will be put in the subject field of the e-mail with the date of the report. · Name of report: A dropdown menu that contains the reports visible to the user. · Object type: The generated report can use a site, an equipment or a virtual site, before choosing the actual object we have to choose the type first. If we choose virtual site then the report will contain those equipments which are below the virtual site · Object: One or two dropdown menu to chose the given object (in case of device the site and the device) depending on the type. The interpretation of the object depends on the type of report and the e-mail: · Usually it means the object that is displayed by the system at the top of the report panel, i.e. ROOT > Site1 > Site2. · In case of chart reports sent in excel format this field means the object that has the “Export to Excel” link. · E-mail type: Whether the email should contain a report in HTML or XLS. · E-mail: The user can select one or more from his e-mail address list · Run cycle: Whether the system should send daily, weekly, monthly or yearly reports. According to the settings the system will send the report always one day after the end of the interval (e.g. next Monday). When the report is sent in HTML format then two or three additional parameters can be specified, depending whether the report is a chart or a table report. In both cases the first is an optional prefix, the second is an optional postfix. PVSR will add these two to the email without any modification, so for example if the value of the prefix parameter is “

Heading 1

” then the email will begin with something like this: Heading 1 If the report is a chart report then the third parameter is a screen width in pixels. PVSR will use this value to calculate the size of the chart images. When the report is sent in XLS format then the following additional parameters have to be specified. These parameters correspond to the ones used for viewing reports: · In case of table reports: · Table: On table reports more than one table may be displayed on a single page. For example, under a site there may be both sites and devices and therefore two tables are displayed. Or under a device there may be an interface and another measurement in which case at least two tables are displayed. From the dropdown menu you have to select one of these. · Send all lines: Should it send all lines of the table or only the specified few first lines. · In case of chart reports: · Table and first order: In case of chart reports the report view may contain more charts for a single object. From these you have to select the appropriate one from the dropdown menu. |
